Covid-19 Vaccine Information

Starting September 12th , the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 bivalent vaccine is available in Waterloo Region for individuals in certain priority groups.... Any individual who falls within one of the following groups can book an appointment for a booster dose of the bivalent vaccine as long as it has been six months since their last dose:
Pregnant individuals, health care workers or those requiring more assistance in booking an appointment should call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre (PVCC) at 1-833-943-3900
On Monday, September 26, eligibility for a booster dose of the bivalent vaccine will open up to anyone 18 years of age and older.
Public Health is in the process of increasing the number regional vaccination clinic locations and appointments available to respond to the initial demand. More information will be available in the coming weeks.

Also, there is an event hosted by KW Multicultural Center and at Kitchener Public Library on September 14th Welcome Night for New Comer and PH will be offering the COVID-19 vaccine.

- Residents of long-term care homes, retirement care homes, Elder Care Lodges and adults living in other congregate settings that provide assisted-living and health services
- Individuals aged 70 and older
- Individuals who are 12 years and older with moderately to severely immunocompromising conditions (based on clinical discretion)
- Adults 18 years and older who identify as First Nations, Inuit or Métis and their non-Indigenous household members aged 18 years and older
- Pregnant individuals aged 18 years and older
- Health care workers aged 18 years and older

- Starting September 6th 2022 families with children between the ages of 5-11 who have been waiting for a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can book an appointment for their next dose.
- A booster dose is recommended six months after completion of a primary series.
- Anyone who is eligible for another dose of the vaccine is encouraged to get it from their local pharmacy or family doctor.
- Appointments are also available at regional vaccination clinics. An appointment can be booked online at covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine
- While we continue to experience the seventh wave, anyone with an underlying medical condition is also encouraged to stay up to date with the recommended number of vaccines.

Housing Programs - COVID19 Rent Supplement Application
The MNO COVID19 Rent Supplement provides a one-time benefit to Ingenious households to a maximum of 3 months rent or $1,500, to assist in paying for their rent. This benefit is limited to one per household and one time only.
Eligible households must meet the following criteria:
1. Must identify as Indigenous
2. Must rent their home as their full-time residence (hostels, group home/congregate living arrangements, nursing & retirement homes are not eligible)
3. Be of low-to-moderate income (total household income must be below the 60thpercentile income threshold in the area they live - Please be advised that receiving this supplement may affect other sources of Government assistance, inclusive of social housing)
4. Tenant cannot be related to the owner/landlord/managing agent of the renting property
